Built from the same detections as the meetings page; a case is counted when one linked source explicitly establishes a meeting or call and its participants. Same-date participant readouts are consolidated unless distinct time or venue evidence supports separate cases. Mentions and possible co-presence are excluded.
Frequently asked questions
What does this diplomacy network show?
Each node is a tracked leader and each link is a confirmed meeting or call — a call, bilateral or joint appearance that at least one side published in its official schedule. Thicker links mean more confirmed meeting/call cases across the retained snapshot.
How is 'who meets whom' worked out?
By requiring an explicit meeting or call action and participants in linked official readouts. Nothing is inferred from news coverage, so the graph is a map of what governments publish about their diplomacy, not of all diplomacy.
Why do some leaders have no connections?
Either their government publishes no schedule detail naming counterparts, or their counterparts are not among the offices we track.
